What does Battlemaster's Disarming Strike do?
If enemies get disarmed, do they skip a turn picking up their weapons or something? Would it be better than Trip Attack?

The weapon falls on the floor and you're free to pick it up. Most enemies won't pick up their weapons after being disarmed either way, even if you leave it there, since it costs a full action. There is a saving throw involved so no guarantee of success, but the same goes for most Maneuvers.
Disarming Strike doesn't work against foes that don't use weapons and it's limited against foes who can switch between melee and ranged (since you'll only disarm one of the two), but it's one of the best options against enemies who rely on a single weapon since it leaves them basically powerless for the rest of the fight.

If you successfully disarm the opponent, their weapon is on the ground.

So, in order to attack you with it, they will have to use an action to pick it back up again, before they can then attack you with it.

BTW, I found a mod that gives Astarion (or any rogue) a Cunning Strike that disarms the opponent AND steals their weapon out of their hands, transferring it to your inventory. I really dig that.

Some enemies will pick them back up. Some don't. It is best to pick them up if you don't want them arming themselves again.

It's a great skill to have. Clerics and others can also disarm a enemy with spells, skills.
