Question regarding Durge and shadowheart in act 2
Planning a durge playthrough where I don't kill isobel but instead have shadowheart kill dame aylin and then I kill her afterwards, is this possible? Or will it trigger well before I get to that part?

i'm almost certain that Isobel dies when you kill dame Aylin. So no you can't do in the order that you asking about it.

Or do you mean killing Shadowheart after she kills dame Aylin?

Isobel dies when you kill dame allyin. Because the dome that was protecting them shatters and the shadows get her. You can find her corpse when you go back to last light inn

I mean killing dame aylin and then doing the durge cutscene to kill shadowheart in her sleep.

Yeah that is a good question. I believe that YES, it should work. But i've never done it that way, so i can't be 100% sure. But at least in theory, it should work. Be the hero we need and test it out for us.
This is a viable way to attain the Slayer form as the Dark Urge. I did it for my honor mode run, as Shar's Spear of Night is an insane weapon to have access to for any party.

Having Shadow Heart kill Aylin causes a unique cut-scene to play out in Last Light, Isobel dies, and Scleritas Fell will award you with the Slayer form on your next long-rest. Your Durge does not have to be the direct cause of Isobel's death - she just has to die somehow.

Tie up any loose ends in Last Light regarding NPC quests before this, obviously.

Okay so you do get the slayer form if shadowheart kills Dame Aylin therefore causing the death of Isobel?

Because that's what the OP is asking about. He wants Shadowheart to kill Dame aylin, but then he wanted the camp event that happens when the durge initially refuses to kill Isobel to trigger, allowing him to kill his loved interest (in this case Shadowheart).
But if what you said is true, this camp event will not trigger since he was already given the slayer form.

From what I've found in a little bit of research, Scleritas will only ever warn you that your companions is "near their demise" after you complete the Gauntlet of Sharr - as you've realistically missed your chance to do Bhaal's bidding by this point. I believe the check to resist killing your love interest can only ever happen after that point if Isobel and Aylin are still alive.

Thus even if you initially refuse to kill Isobel, since Shadowheart kills Aylin and that leads to Isobel and all of Last Light dying - the quest is completed and you are awarded with Slayer.

My first playthrough I went with (non dark urge) lawful evil(but there's no lawful evil path) because . At First I chose to help Ketheric and dismiss shadowheart, so I helped the necromancer. Turns out, you dont get "promoted" in ranks, or "infiltrate" so you just end up being discarded and left to die in the pods of the necromancers (basically the worst possible outcome of all)

So ya. You're better off helping shadowheart by attacking the necromancer and killing nightsong (which kills isobel)
Because if you actually kidnap isobel for ketheric , its not like you get rewarded. Thats my main criticism of this amazing game. A lack of lawful evil path by being obedient to evil being rewarded, instead it's just the lesser of all paths

And well
If you're dark urge evil if I remember correctly.... You yourself kill isobel, but then people dont like you.
The more I try to remember the more I see I dont remember all possibles outcomes clearly .. but anyways....

I mean, the "chosen of the absolute" aren't the strongest candidates to be considered well written villains. In the end, they are all just pawns to be used by the illithid. After the power-rangers "show of power" over the brain, it's hard to keep someone like Gortash in mind as being an actual threat.

I think the decision to just have them cast you aside fits in with their cartoony "villain of the week" presentation. There is no greater plan for the followers of the absolute, as the three chosen seek to rule a soulless empire without question. I think Ketheric basically disregarding Minthara, sending her on her way to being lobotomized, is a fair sign to not expect the power-hungry "absolute" ruler to be trusted - even if you're evil aligned. Even still, with how each member has a knife at each others throats and each one of the chosen wish to usurp the other, they don't seem to be the most "professional" villains.
