You didn't buy the dlc for it.
Only Elf and Half-Elf can be Bladesingers.

Well, that was the original Lore in DD3.5, the BG version is available to all races including Drows, so you're just having a bug I guess...

D&D 5e don’t restrict class with races, afaik, even 3.5e had very few race restrictions. This is an AD&D thing, more.

what mods you using? i know that currently unlocklevelcurve patch 5espells improvements is blocking the new subclasses that need level 3 to get while your still fine to get the ones that start of as the subclass. mod author knows and will be looking to update it

As I said, that was that way in DD 3.5e :

"Bladesingers are ELVES who have blended art, swordplay, and arcane magic into a harmonious whole. In battle, a bladesinger’s lithe movements and subtle tactics are beautiful, belying their deadly martial efficiency.

Multiclass fighter/wizards are the most obvious candidates for the prestige class, although any ELF who can wield a martial weapon and cast arcane spells can become a bladesinger. Bladesinger ranger/wizards, rogue/wizards, and even bards are not unknown."

Bladesingers command great respect in most elf communities, and NPC bladesingers usually serve as itinerant guardians and champions of the elf community at large."

But that subclass initially appeared as a Prestige Kit for ADD 2nd Edition in "The complete Book of Elves" which made it very popular, so the fact that it was racially restricted is indeed a remnant of ADD rules...

In DD5 and BG3 it's open to all races, but I feel that it detracts from its elvish flavor. WOTC justified it that way :

"Bladesingers master a tradition of wizardry that incorporates swordplay and dance. Originally created by elves, this tradition has been adopted by non-elf practitioners, who honor and expand on the elven ways.

In combat, a bladesinger uses a series of intricate, elegant maneuvers that fend off harm and allow the bladesinger to channel magic into devastating attacks and a cunning defense. Many who have observed a bladesinger at work remember the display as one of the more beautiful experiences in their life, a glorious dance accompanied by a singing blade."
