Game crashes on loading after patch 8
Self explanatory. Can't play at all, half the time the game doesn't even reach main menu. It freezes in the middle of the loading process and there is no other way out than just force-close the game which initiates a crash and resets all custom settings in game. Even with mods completely disabled. This never have occured before the patch :steamsad:

Upd: cleaned everything with revo uninstaller, deleted every Larian folder from appdata, reinstalled and now it at least loads into main menu something like 6 times out of 10, instead of former 3 out 10. Still freezes mid-loading while trying to reload a save tho.

I'll probably do just that but already after some patch fixes are done
I DISABLED all my mods and and the game ran for me, now I have to figure out which of these 200 mods is causing the game to crash. So you might want to DISABLE all your mods and purge your load order to see if it works.

I feel many people that have modded BG3 are new to mods.

Most of the time, when a game is updated, the mods break, especially large updates such as this. You will just have to wait for the authors to update the mods. Sometimes that can be in a few hours after release, sometimes weeks, sometimes never. Someone that no longer plays the game is unlikely to spend the time updating the mod.

Rule of thumb is to just play it vanilla and keep an eye out for the updates to mods.

It's also good practice to completely remove the game from your system and install fresh, especially if you have heavily modded the game, just a little bit of change can knock the whole thing over, ie, not getting past the main menu, or even into the main menu.

Purging the mod folder did nothing for me, unfortunately. I did it already before creating this post. I will prolly uninstall the game and delete all the game files and then do a clean install after hotfixes come out.

totally fresh start and install, never had issues.
Cannot even play now.
And this was tested?

Did you try to play game w/o Game trainers and Mods?
Also, did you have steam check the game files?

Your mods broke the game.

Yes, I literally stated so in the post that removing all the mods did not improve anything significantly. Verifying game files didn't catch anything. I will just do a clean install sometime later when hotfixes are out.

I stated in the post I removed all the mods and the game freezes during loading to the main menu half the time, I doubt mods affect loading into the MENU.
When i managed to load into the unmodded game, it would still freeze and become unresponsive any time i'd try to reload a save.
I will just do a clean install sometime later when hotfixes are out. [2]

Purging the mod folder isn't going to magically fix it. The modsettings.lsx file is in:
"AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public"

This is also why reinstalling also doesn't fix it. There are %appdata% files that still remain and are read on game launch. Finally, even if you disable all mods properly, you are unlikely to be able to continue on a modded save; there is no guarantee all mods uninstall cleanly from a savegame.

The most convenient stuff lol
thanks for letting me know
Hopefully a totally clean install after hotfixes will let me play again.

Adding onto this I've reinstalled this game after over a year, I had already purged my mod folder on uninstall but was still freezing up until i removed the player profiles.
