Is DirectX 11 or Vulkan the preferred renderer now with Patch 8?
I know that initially Vulkan had issues but is that still the case now with patch 8?

I can't imagine it is. Either way, worth it to give it a try at least. Worst-case scenario, it doesn't work well and you change it back. Vulkan is epic anyhow so I hope it works well

I tried dx11 and had no issues at all, then I tried vulkan. And vulkan gave me a little better cpu performance as well as gpu. More steady numbers more often and lower usage.
So im sticking with vulkan. No matter what, and no matter what settings I change, The cpu usage will always be high in this game so I stopped stressing it. lol
Its weird..I play on 4k , max settings, around 80 fps..45-60% cpu in act-1
Play 1440 max, around 90-100 fps , 45-60% cpu..lol Only thing any of that changes is my gpu usage. Such weird optimization in this game lol Drives me crazy. Very playable. But drives me crazy..Not badly optimized either,,Just weird
Yeah, very unoptimized Games always run with 4k 80FPS....

Vulkan for me gives ever so slightly better fps and it doesn't dip as low, but it constantly crashes the game with a "device_lost" vulkan error. That is unless I cap it to 80-90 max, then it runs fine. I might kinda prefer it that way, since framerates over 100 heat my gpu a bit too much for my liking and the fans become rather loud.

Majority of people don't own a 4k monitor, nor do they even have the hardware to push that resolution.

Also 4k 80 fps sounds pretty doable for the majority of titles, since you clearly don't know how demanding said resolution is xD

Some people (You) don't understand irony.

This thread is for people who actually have technical knowledge. Might I interest you in the Epic Games forums for Fortnite?
Back OT...

I've found that Vulkan gives me a few more FPS, but it crashes occasionally. DX11 is a bit more stable. I can't notice a diff in image quality. I overall prefer Vulkan.

I've got graphics maxed and getting a solid 60 fps on a Dell G16, Win 11, i7 2700h, RTX 3060 mobile 6gb, 16gb DDR4 ram, cast to my 4k TV.

Off topic, patch 8 installed flawlessly for me, but then again, I did my due diligence pre-install. :)

Both options work for me, but Vulkan is more demanding on my heat control. Why is that? Is Vulkan just more added graphics or demanding on the fans and cooler?
