What do you think of Naaber?
I was annoyed by him at first, but then I realized he's just an over-excited newbie. We've all been there.

He's a call back to an annoying NPC from BG1 named Noober.

Definitely better than Noober; Naaber's actually not as annoying and generally nicer to the player, plus Naaber gives you something if you keep talking to him.

Naaber was funny to encounter and I was relieved that he did not turn out to be another stray NPC who shows up in camp. Volo had finally left so I did have a moment of concern...

I push him off the ledge every time I meet him as soon as possible.

There was an entire set of ankeg armor in the field behind Noober, though. All you had to do was put up with him saying hello and you got some really good, free gear.
