I dont understand why they dont release patch 8 for everyone as a separate test branch... They are dangling patch 8 before us for months already. Who the hell makes this "stress test" for so long.

Well, they could be Bethesda... Release if half-finished and then just shrug and say "the fans will patch it with mods".

It is good that they have not released it yet!
Based on info about patch 8 version 3... there is still much to do. So at least couple of more release versions before this is ready to be released.
It is usefull to read those release notes! They tell a lot how far they are in making patch 8!

I wonder how many people they have working on it, actually. We've been told for a year that Larian has moved on to developing two other projects. They may have a fairly small team working on Patch 8.

I estimate mid-April at the earliest, mid-May at the latest. That's just me, though. My estimates are based on the cadence of stress tests and fixes TO those stress tests. I could be completely wrong. Just have patience and know that it's worth the wait. This kind of thing shouldn't be rushed, especially when it comes to something like Cross-Play.

Patch 8 for BG 3 will be Larian's Half-Life 3.

I actually just talked to them and they said this thread pushed them over the edge and they're never releasing patch 8.

Instead they will be releasing a patch 9 which removes half of the sub-classes already in the game.
