Dawnmaster's Crest
Hi!

So I used Thieves' Tools to get around finding all the weapons and just took the Crest out of the bag. I slayed most enemies and got to the Blood of Lathander.

As I wanted to put the Crest into the machine, the Crest was gone. I didn't trade it. It's jsut gone. I tried to find it in trader inventories anyway. Nothing. It wan't in the original bag anymore either, very obviously.

Does someone have an idea? I also think I wouldn't survive The Machine (TM).

Try to do an item search in your inventory. Otherwise, you can leave one person at the Blood of Lathander to steal it and the rest of the party outside the monastery. Once the person in the temple steals it, send it to camp. If they die, revive with Withers.

I tried that already, everywhere. I even went through all of my bags one by one. ^^;;

But yeah, that is a solution. I don't like I have to do such metagamey things, but I think you saved my playthrough then. I was on the verge of just finishing. ;-;
Surviving the weapon activation is easy. Simply ungroup your party and have a lone character grab the mace by force, while keeping everyone else outside and far away. Even if that one character doesn't make it out, you can just revive them. Just make sure to do/loot everything in the temple/creche beforehand.

the machine isn't hard, just 4 low health ranged targets and a long time to drop them. I just brute forced this several plays because the key was a pain to get at, but lately the free xp and doing it right has felt better.
Well, it isn't for me, though. Every group is different.
The key was easy for me. I just picked the lock first try with like my usual 40 throw. :D
My group is just very bad against constructs and could do 30-40 dmg at them in total per round. 4 rounds wouldn't be enough for four lenses, let alone four.

But then again, the Creche was a piece of a cacke with their burning Gith bodies. :D

Everyone has different specialities and problems, that's what I like about DnD systems. And yeah, that's why I couldn't do the destroy path. ^^
