what is the best mod for expanding the number of party members?
i've done one playtrough, using only 3 companions (astarion, gale, and shadowheart). But I never liked this idea of not being able to play with everyone at everytime, so i am doing some research and found Party Limit Extender and Party Limit Begone. So, what is the best mod for expanding the number of party members? considering the number of bugs and everything else? which do u you use? and why no the other

Huh. JUST discussing that same topic.

If you want a larger party for multiplayer, you HAVE to use Party Limit Begone (Nexus).
For larger parties in single player, personally I use Party Limit Adjuster (mod.io), and I would say it works perfectly fine. It's the one I prefer, I'm not doing much MP these days.

I have no intersting for multiplayer so i think i might go with that second one, thank you

The Limit Begone party can also be used as SP. Only the creation of your custom party is MP. So if you want a fully customized 5+ party from scratch on Nautiloid, give it a try.

If you are patient enough to wait for hirelings to customize or just want to play with more companions than the other mod is all you need.

I am currently using Adjustable Party Limit mod. It works fine, only issue is anytime you want to long rest, you have to have some members leave party to get back to normal party size.

I use the “Adjustable Party Limit” mod which is included in the game's Mod Manager. It's just for having a fifth companion.
It works very well and incorporates safeguards to avoid bugs during long rests, for example.
It has buttons for quick changes.
This mod is great.
The only regret is that it's not translated into French, so I made myself a simple reminder.

Just make sure you also add a mod or two for increasing difficulty... And play on highest possible difficulty settings or else you'll die of boredom, so dead easy the game will become... :P

Any suggestion on what mod should I use for difficulties? The last time I played was june 2024, so I guess the mod I used (lethal AI) back then is outdated.

This is a GOOD thing because BAD THINGS happen when you long rest with more than four in your party. And there's a spell to dismiss all the extra party members without having to do it individually.

Also, Adjustable Part Limit actively keeps you from doing game-breaking stuff related to too many party members.

You can have up to sixteen party members with Adjustable Party Limit. It has spells that you can adjust the limit up and down so you can customize the maximum number of party members.
I use "Adjustable Party Limit" and it works great !

However, the fights become quite trivial if you have more than 6 correctly designed characters so if it's your case it's better to use other Mods to make encounters harder if you don't want to play in "story mode" !

Yes, the author (pixellbytes) recommends adding his “Tactician Enhanced” Mod included in the game's Mod Manager.

Yeah, Tactician Enhanced scales enemy difficulty based on party size, and what is very nice about it is it's configurable. Most configurable mods work around MCM and script extender at Nexus - so what I think is cool is this author figured out how to make his mod configurable without using that, so non-SE users can still configure how his mod works.

I don't know if it's a Osiris scripting limitation, but it would be cool if either:

a) TE let one of those configuration options be the # of enemies you face (it mostly just scales up existing enemies)
or
b) More enemies in basic encounters was configurable (it's just a constant 25% addition) so that you could choose what % of enemies to add to encounters - from 25% to 50% or 75% of 100%.

If somebody ever does THAT mod ... configurable enemy #'s (without doubling the freaking bosses) ... me want.
