Tried that as well and it didn’t work
1) Shadowheart invisibly poisoned the goblin drinks
2) My paladin proposed a toast (and successfully avoided drinking)
3) When the goblins asked if I had poisoned them, I said yes. Then we fought.
After that, my oath broke. I don't know exactly which part of that did the deed (although I suspect it was poisoning them, even though Shadowheart actually poured the poison).

maybe all you need to do is long rest now XD
Devotion for example is:
Courage based actions.
Compassion based actions.
Duty based actions.
Random murder and general chaotic actions do not necessarily trigger one of the tenets.
I’m way past that sadly
