How to make your favorite characters in BG3?
Just a little thought experiment for fun that came to mind when I rewatched Deadpool & Wolverine yesterday. How would you create your favorite characters from other media / franchises in BG3? How close can you get to the original? Obviously, appearance is one thing, but I'm more interested in skills, traits etc. Also, if you know of mods that really fit the character, link them. I'll start:

Wolverine
I'd start with a Half-Orc Barbarian for relentless endurance and rage, because Wolverine is a literal rage beast. Con as strongest stat, then Str. I'd choose Wild Heart Bear at level 3 for even more tankiness and a self heal to mirror the healing factor. For feats, if not straight up bumping Con or Str, I'd go for Durable, Tough and Dual Wielding (because claws on each hand, you know). I could also see going into monk and forego weapons altogether, swapping Dual Wielding for Tavern Brawler.

What are your thoughts? What characters could you imagine in the world of BG3?

I just bought and started the game with a normal character, but damn, your idea is effin' perfect for a dark run. Thanks so much for this inspiration!! Enjoy your trip to good ol' gate!
I'm playing as Deanna Troi (star trek tng), Half elf enchantment wizard, seems to work really well

what a good show
Yeah, I'll have to rewatch Star Gate some time.
Look up Tulock the Barbarian on Youtube. His whole shtick is "pop culture characters in DnD" and he builds for flavor first, mechanics second. He has a LOT of videos.

Sadly the IP seems to be stuck in some sort of hell limbo.

I love Stargate but I'm honest enough to acknowledge that it is simply NOT the sort of franchise you that can convince "people with money" is a safe investment these days. It's a very niche market. Stargate Timekeepers did not help; regardless of your feelings on the game itself a shareholder will take one look at it's sales and say "yeah that IPs dead".

True.
The spin off series were also a bit hit or miss.

And at the end of the day I'd rather they not make something new if its going to be horrible.

At least we can rewatch the good stuff whenever we want.

tbh I meant Stargate SG1 specifically...I only ever watched that one + a bit of SG Atlantis...
Though I plan to expand on that, and I'll see where it goes...Still a bit to go with sg1, though...I'm currently at s7e11...not to much left, but still a bit to go :)

There are actually 2 or 3 movies that take place after the series with the original show & cast
They are a bit hit or miss.
Arc of Truth and Continuum if I remember right (cant remember the other one)

Atlantis is very hit or miss, more of a miss in the later seasons.

Stargate Universe was a neat series they did, sadly the last few episodes were kinda meh, end on a cliffhanger and it got axed due to a writers strike.

Sadly last I heard Amazon bought the rights and is wanting to reboot the whole thing and given their record its either going to be good or absolutely horrible.

It feels like the years physically hit me as they flew past

Branching out of D&D can be easy or hard depending on what universe the original is in. I mean superheroes may be a tough sell -- you can fly, and have a few weird powers, so some might work like wonder woman (monk deflect arrows, flying, maybe elf + speed race, and so on) or the lesser hulk (mega str potions on a half orc, though you can actually color anyone green and beefy) (greater hulk is much bigger than man sized version) or many others. But stuff like batman (car, and tech toys) may not fit cleanly, or with your xman idea, there isn't any clean way to create magneto or cyclops or many others.

As for me, I have done a few..
I did a sorcerer magna dane (wizardry nutjob npc), khelgar (nwn dwarf companion), couple of others that I didn't finish out the game with.

to me it has to look very right or its a no-go, and the skills have to be rather close, so I limit myself a lot here.

I didn't know that, will definitely check it out, thanks!

I agree that some are easier than others, especially if you want to get very close. Though I'd argue that many mutants are basically different kinds of sorcerers; individuals with innate "magical" abilities and you can pick the "mutation" by picking the right spells. Also, Storm from X-Men is almost exactly a Storm Sorcerer even without much tweaking. XD

yes, storm would be excellent. X-men its probably close to 30% or more doable, esp some of the minor players. The "all skin colors" would grant mystique, with disguise self... then what, rogue out?
