Dude, take some responsibility for your actions.
That's not why I dislike the character I disliked her way before this.
She's written like a Tumblr DnD fanfic and feels completely out of place with the rest of the game and characters.
Her personality makes absolutely zero sense with her backstory either.
I think in early access she literally even had a fourth wall breaking scene if I remember correctly that was so bad they actually removed it.
She just feels like she's written to be fanservice for a particular crowd and her fanbase only reinforce that and so does the writing of her character.
Everyone else feels like they're actual characters and fit into the world, Karlach just doesn't.
She comes across like she was written *for the player* and a very particular player fetish/ fantasy rather than to be an actual person that exists in that world like the rest.
I put up with her in one of my playthroughs just to give her a chance ( including the romance subplot ) and my negative opinion on her was only reinforced from that too.
Are you going to sit here and tell me that war veterans behave and talk like 14 year old girls?
Karlach is a fantasy of what a '' broken person '' is like, Astarion still has the same '' I can fix him/ her '' thing going on and does indulge the player in it but is at least done well and in a believeable manner.
Karlach is written as a typical awkward, cutsey and quirky muscle dudette with a heart of gold with a '' I can't touch you '' plotline thrown in with a sex reward at the end.
She a fantasy trope, she has more in common with Minsc than anyone else.
She's not written as someone who has been a literal war slave, if you want to see interviews with people who have experienced war there's plenty of it and they don't act like she does.
I am not saying characters need to be written as someone with realistic PTSD because that would be kinda miserable too, but there's a pretty big spectrum between that and Karlach.
I mean for ♥♥♥♥ sake her best ending is you and her going to Avernus and smoking cigars while killing demons.
Like cmon lmao.
I am not saying you can't like her, I am giving my opinion on her but lets at least not pretend like she's some realistic portrayal of what war does to someone.
Even if a story was there somewhere it still wasn't told and completed either to begin with.
I believe Debug Book can respawn Karlach, if you killed her. Of course, if you killed her after she became a party member and didn't boot her from the party, Withers can rez her. If you killed her before, well ... as I said, Debug Book might be able to spawn her, but she will probably spawn dead and be very buggy and difficult to recruit.
I can't use the debug console, so I don't know any console commands.
There is a hack I've found to avoid you becoming a mindflayer if you don't want to make Orpheus do it, and don't have Karlach, but it requires a Nexus mod.
Also. Relax, damn. All the companions are wish fulfillment of some kind, that's just the kind of game this is. Embrace it and try to have fun with it.
