Darkvision won't let you see through magical darkness; only a handful of abilities let a character see normally in it.
The spell "daylight" can dispel it:

Alternatively, if you know who cast it, damaging that character or creature may cause them to lose concentration on the spell. Killing them definitely will.
Also, you can shoot through or into darkness, but if your target is not within it, you can try to avoid it.
