Will I enjoy Baldurs Gate 3 if I don't have a lot of patience?
Hi. I'm currently eyeing on BG3 as a Christmas gift for myself. Will I enjoy it if I have a short attention span? I'm also not into turn based games but if the combat stimulates my brain then I'm up for it.

I have to agree. As far as turn-based RPGs go, BG3 is certainly on the more flashy side of things, but it is still heavily entrenched in 5e's turn-based mechanics. It isn't unheard of for people that don't normally like turn-based games to like it, but if this is a major concern for OP...he'd probably just be wasting his time and money. Edit: There's also lots of downtime between combats, relatively speaking. If all you are looking for is a deep tactical combat game, that might grate.

Definitely not, especially based on that weird group you're a part of.

If you're not used to turn-based or don't really like them, I will warn you that the game starts off SLOW and easy-ish. The combat gets trickier as you progress through the game. The pacing is not fast and there's lots of running around - map travel is a thing, though, so it's not too bad.

Normally I would say to anyone "just buy it and see" but since it's not usually something you would go for, I would suggest you actually watch a couple of youtube videos on game play to see if it's something that you would enjoy.

He means if you don't like "DEI," you *definitely* won't like BG3.

Nor any other popular title, since literally every single popular release has people calling it "DEI" and "woke" and other such buzzwords.

Probably not. You have to spend a lot of time reading, talking to people and listening, and making choices based on what you read and heard. You can just try to skip through everything, but you're going to miss a lot and not know what's going on.

Now I'm more curious as to which group you thought Orion Invictus meant XD

BG3 combat is in some ways, like chess. Simulate the brain? Of course if thinking, planning and making the right moves are.

You don't have to do quick, slash, roll, dodge and hack style combat to simulate your brain.

No.

Yeah, OP, you won't. The game is 120 hours long. Sometimes you have to notice details and ♥♥♥♥. Sometimes you have to wait like almost a full minute for the computer to take its turn. The answer is no.

On the other hand your profile picture is from Cyberpunk 2077, a game that has easily 40 hours of staring at very linear conversations, so maybe you're more patient than you think.

Play this game like you would sip wine. The game is meant to be played slow and don't blindly rush into battle. Also build your character how you like and just enjoy the choices you make. There is a reason why this game stayed in the top 15 games played on Steam for over a year. It is the endless replayability and the online mode you can play with your friends.

Also another RPG game which you may like which is a perfect blend of RPG and hack/slash is Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War.
