E: This is a game with consequences. It won't spell out the consequences ahead of time, but it often gives warnings when one thing is going to lock in the consequences of actions and inactions.
well... unfortunately I don't think there is anything I can do.
Guess what. It's complete. Meaning, the tieflings are all gone, and the Grove itself is totally sealed from outsiders ... including you.
So if you needed anything from Arron ... too bad, so sad. The waypoint is outside the grove, and they ain't gonna open the main gate for you anymore, the Rite has sealed it.
Did you ever enter the grove? Like after fighting the goblins at the entrance?
If you did and then went on exploration too far, you're done with it
If you never entered the grove but did fight the goblins (and did not exit act 1), you just need to get your character near the door, and it will open
It's ok. I made a lot of mistakes during my first and early play runs. Learn from it and enjoy the game. Nothing wrong with starting over with a new char.
BUT ... I'm gonna mention one other possible consequence of sealing the Grove you should be aware of ... all the tieflings were forced to hit the road, and are also, as a result dead (unless you wiped out all the goblin leaders), like Zevlor, Alfira, Dammon, Mol, etc., etc.
Just letting you know ... although you don't NEED them to finish the game, either.
Just remember, time is moving in the world. If you see a child in danger or a building on fire and you decide to long rest - guess what? Time has passed and that child is dead and that building is burned down. When the druids say they're working on a ritual to close the grove and you leave the area without resolving that, time passed and the grove is sealed. That doesn't make your choice to long rest or move on wrong, but it will give you a different story than if you had saved them.
There is no 'wrong' way to play the game, just different choices will give you different outcomes. When you play again, try to save the grove and compare the different things you get to see going forward.
