Flind is Insane
Multiattacks, crits on every other hit and 1-shots a lvl 4 party member even with the greatest shields... To this day I still call BS on players that say that they 1v1 him with a fighter or get out unscathed.

Well, to start with, she is a "her", not a "him".

And sometimes she kills half my party, while other times she gets stomped.

Most of the time, it is the damn archer gnolls with their three shots per turn that end up doing the worst damage to me in that fight.

Lol to be frank, I didn't stop to ask the gender-obscured creature her pronouns when she was whipping Laezel to ribbons, but fair; hell hath no fury I guess.

The archer gnolls are a pain, sure; but they usually dish out 6-8 damage per shot and miss half the time. It's that multi-attack and paralyze attack that crits 70% of the time for Flind that ruins my party. Not to mention the multi-attack can crit any of those 3 hits.
Best thing for Flind is to go up on the shelf above, and to the right of the cave. You get a good vantage for attacks, and a choke point to plop down aoe spells to wreck 'em all.

it rarely gets a hit on anyone, though, unless you are on tactician+. Prep before you engage with a strategic grease, and time it gets to you the ranged attacks will have it badly hurt. A void bulb & cloud of daggers on that grease will do in the whole group unless one of the archers does something unusually smart -- they do sometimes, but usually just the 1 guy.

The encounter can be defeated with no combat at all for your party if you have good wisdom. You can make the flind turn on the other gnolls, and even commit suicide.

ah that guy, I did find him for the first time (never been there before for some reason), I didnt even realice he was supposed to be hard, I just used gale and hit him with grease full out and then just sniped the others, he didnt even get close to me at all, I may gotten lucky or something, my partie was karlach, drow bard, shadowheart and Gale.

Also think that some might struggle because they hit them too early, especially when considering the number of gnolls present.

not realy sure how i did it, but I came in opposite way, so I had already cleared the other gnolls arround the area, what i did notice where quite close, I then walked up there and had maby max 5 or so gnolls there, what was not a big problem at all. but as I said I think I got lucky or something and I am only playing on balanced mode.
Was never an issue for me- the best advice I can give as someone who used to hoard scrolls and potions to the point where I had 50lb backpacks is this: USE YOUR ♥♥♥♥

The only wasted scroll or potion is an unused scroll or potion. Juice your party on elixirs and don't be afraid to actually use arrows, throwables, poisons, potions, etc. The game gives you that many for a reason. It's infinitely easier when you're not bottlenecking yourself into trying to raw dog every fight (which, btw, still shouldn't be hard if you're using magic, rage charges, battle master stuff, etc)

If you have cleaned out the groups of gnolls prior to the final pack with the flind, you shouldve had a bunch of gnoll ears which is used for potions of haste.

now thinking about it, i literaly didnt use any high ground at all, came there quite unprepared (didnt realice they where at first), I did however use grease spell, then circle of knifes on Flind, he never moved a single time at all becuse he was knocked down pretty much rest of fight, then just hit more grease and circle of knifes on the rest, becuse most where nocked down, but i might have been higher level think lvl 4 when I found them, buy accident.

Got an easy fight because I came from the cave and used Spike Growth to control the crowd. With slowed opponents & range attacks only Flind managed to cross the spikes and she was seriously wounded before my monk and Lae'zel decided that's enough. At 4 against 1, she didn't stand a chance.

Convince her to attack her own Gnolls. Then when they are all dead except her, convince her to kill herself. Not a hard fight at all, if you use dialog to win.

And you still get to loot her and about the same amount of exp.

this if you can. About 1 in 3 the dialog won't trigger, in my experience.

It will be the ones you want if you select the correct one of the first choices.
