How do you actually surprise in this game? Whenever I put my team into hide and then engage with one of them, the combat starts but my other 3 characters don't join the fight for some reason.
Once they have all attacked (or at least entered the initiative order), then you can end turn on your first character.
By attacking when enemy dont see you but they need to spot you after attack in same turn, so you have to be close enough when doing range attacks when hiding. second option is do attack when you invisibile . Shovel Cheeky Quasit is perfect for this job, he can use Invisibility at will and surprise is guaranteed if enemy doesn't have alert feat. However it won't work for spiders as they see invisibile. Can show You in game how to surprise momy spider.
After that I killed it with the whole party, so all you need is some guerilla tactics lol.
Don't put the explosives on the web directly, because when you blow them up they just fall and don't explode for some reason. Probably one of my least favorite battles anyway as it's incredibly hard for low lv chars even when using such drastic means against a couple of spiders.
Oh, also sneak around and shoot special arrows, like lightening, acid, cold, fire, whatever at the spider egg clutches so she doesn't activate them during the battle. There's three clutches of them.
