Leap of Faith Trial
I'm literally beside myself with how upsetting this trial is can the devs please fix it. Can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jump along the path. Can't use misty step, potion of see invisibility won't do ♥♥♥♥, fly will get you killed, touching the darkness surrounding the orb is an instant death. Like how the ♥♥♥♥ am I supposed to solve this? Every in game tool at my disposal is not working and it makes literally zero sense from a mechanics pov. It's anti dnd and I didn't mind the other trials despite them being kinda hard. The trail feels buggy and it's made me so mad I might not play bg3 or anything else they put out. I've never been this tilted before over a game and it's literally essential to pass to progress to the nightsong to get to the next step in the story. Would be fine if it was some optional character story thing that just lead to some treasure or for flavor/character development but it's blocking me from getting to the nightsong and I don't think I've ever been this upset over a game. I alt f4 after it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bankrupted me. I spend like 5 hours on this thing and it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken. I'm fine with hard/frustrating puzzles but this is just here to make you hate your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ life. I might burn down a government building (in minecraft of-course)

Don't jump or fly through patches of darkness. Jump onto edges of platforms and walk to opposite side before jumping/flying.

Darkness on platforms can be blown away like a cloud, or dispelled by Daylight. 2x Daylight spells can clear the darknesses.

On my non-Honour goes, I'll make a save and try different ways to complete. Next time, I'll try the Mage hand dropping junk method.

There is literally a map of the path on the floor just in front of the sacrificial bowl.

It's my least favorite of the three trials, but there are many ways to bypass it.

One way is to just skip it entirely. Use one of gems from one of the other trials to activate the elevator. Ride it down to the big locked door. Instead of using three more gems to unlock that door, just use the second-level wizard spell "knock" on the door, and it will unlock.
Just walk. Makes plenty of sense to me. And like Mike Garrison wrote: the map is on the floor. Cannot be missed.
flight and light spells work just fine

I can confirm that I have safely walked down to the landing on the right side. Put on the "can't be blinded" ring of eversight. Jumped to the closest platform. And from there just jumped from platform to platform, ignoring the darkness because of that ring.
If this tilts you so bad, don't ever play Wrath of the Righteous. The puzzles associated with Nenio's quest line will make you kill your computer.

I cheesed it by using a mage hand to drop things on the path to follow it, and then using Misty Step to move to the very end. I concede that it is tedious, and that "three strikes, you're dead" with no saving throw isn't a really good design for a puzzle of that kind, though.

I think the brain puzzle will result in 3 murders and an arson when he gets there

It is not really a puzzle.
It just means you have a poor spatial perception. The map is on the floor (so it's not a puzzle you have to solve, just a map you have to follow) and quite easy to follow. It takes about two minutes to walk without rushing. The path is quite large.
You just have to be Indiana Jones.

Oh no I know the path my friend. The problem is the pathfinding even when you inch your way through is broken, even getting on the platform to grab the gem kills you. Or god forbid your character even comes close to any wall. You might be right about my spacial perception though

It can easily be missed. There's heaps of posts about this so obviously OP isn't the first person to miss it.

Having just done this again I feel your pain. It's an annoying "puzzle" that's just not fun gameplay. I think it's also quite buggy. Or variable. I know people say "just fly," jump or equip the ring of blindsight. That worked absolutely fine for me. Last run. Did it yesterday and, nope. Didn't work at all for some reason. The only thing Ive found works consistently is going turn based, and just seeing where the movement marker goes. If it dips, don't go there. Save every time you move and just brute force it. Edit - and use the map obv so you got a broad idea where to hover the move marker.

I had a similar experience. There was not a single light spell at my disposal that would reveal the path, and landing on any of the platforms with teleportation or massive leaps instantly killed me for some reason. None of my party could fly.
