Anyone Interested in Trying BG1 or BG2? (Free Code)
I have a spare GoG code for Baldur's Gate 1 Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition.

I’d like to give them to someone who actually wants to play the games, not just add them to their library. Ideally, this is for someone who hasn’t played the games before.

Gameplay-wise, they’re similar to the Pillars of Eternity games or Icewind Dale 1 & 2. If you’ve played and enjoyed those, these might be a great fit. If you’ve tried them and didn’t like them, these probably aren’t for you, they stick to the same classic RPG style.

I’m giving away one game per person, so you can request either BG1 or BG2. Just a heads-up: Baldur’s Gate 1 requires a bit more patience, in my opinion.

Keep in mind that these are older games, and they use the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition ruleset, which is more complex than the D&D 5th Edition rules used in BG3.

If there’s a lot of interest, I’ll pick who gets each game rather than giving priority to the first comment. :d20:

I've got baldur's gate 2 enhanced edition on steam but haven't gotten around to trying it yet, never played the first one and wouldn't mind seeing where it all began

I would love to play those games actually. I think it would be neat to play all three games in order.

For any who think they might be interested, just be aware that BG1 and BG2 are nothing like BG3. They are not turn-based strategy RPGs, but traditional CRPGs with active time combat that can be paused and actions queued, based on a much older version of DnD with very different rules and stats (looking at you, THAC0 and Strength 18/00).

This was mentioned in the OP, but I wanted to highlight it.

You don't need a code for them. They're free to claim for everyone currently through Twitch (connect your GOG account). Easy-peasy. Did it yesterday.

Might worth checking Pathfinder / Rogue Trader / Pillars of Eternity subforums if you do not find here any taker.

Those are great games and worth playing. I would love to see more people appreciate them the way they are worth it.

Yeah the reason im asking here is that i think some people might be interrested in the past games after having played BG3, but you might be right, that there is a bigger audience for this type of games there.

...I should probably inform you that I do have prime and just haven't checked games yet then. Didn't know that was where you got them from, otherwise I most likely would not have interacted with this post. That said, I am willing to pass on my codes to friends as well.
