Is there a joke I'm missing here?
It is not a joke though: how many horns do you count on the example image?
Precisely what from your posted picture do you find confusing?
Is really no one finding it odd???
True. Though it seems so unusual to see them like that together that "late" in the game. I think it is the temple of Lathander in the background.
I'm not terribly interested in it, but for those who are, I suspect that's grand.
What I would really love coming with Photo Mode is LARIAN THEMSELVES "liberating" or "freeing" the camera in the game so people don't have to use mods; mods which at the moment only a portion of the playerbase can use, alas.
On another point, maybe you've seen the Disguise Self as Origins mod that just turned up at mod.io. When you Disguise yourself as Wyll, it's the no horns version, which makes me wonder how such a disguise could play out in the game, especially with people who "don't believe Wyll is Wyll" because of his horns.
I could not agree more.
You can put a disguise on and talk to dead. You can put a disguise on and get racial-specific dialogue. OK, fine.
But, you can put a disguise on and get racial bonuses from equipment, which doesn't make any sense really.
And most importantly, you don't often seem to actually be able to avoid being recognized by quest targets and such.
So as an illusionary dwarf, you shouldn't be able to use dwarf-specific equipment (what little there is, anyway).
But this mod is interesting; it makes sure your disguise gets origin dialogue tags. I tested it out briefly, Another option is to take a non-Durge Tav and use the Disguise Self as Durge option ... if you do this, you WILL start getting Durge-specific dialogue options.
Moreover, Human wyll & Karlach can be done in a playthrough & the Temple of Lathander act 1->2, hardly "late game".
The characters can have features acquired through the story, but it would be a photo mode spoiler to allow them before it happens. Yet, it would also be a bit restrictive not to include other features of characters once a player's seen them.
We'll see what they do when it arrives.
E: The situation required for the image ignores the required long rest to reach that locale and ignores what happens when reaching that location before triggering the required event. That one character shouldn't be like that in that scene unless there's an option to adjust that character based on past events (and, hopefully, not based on events yet to be seen).
