Finding Zevlor GLITCH?

I killed Ketheric and i'm back on top in the castle. I'm trying to finish find zevlor quest where he's in an illithid pod inside the illithid basement. I'm trying to get back down there from jumping inside the tower on top of the castle but it won't let me. so how the F do i get back down there to find zevlor? The game wont let me.

is there another way to get down there?

This is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid. I'm really hating bg3 right now with these constant glitches where quests dont complete or can't be done.
