Yeah, I'd have to agree. It's pretty much most of the male faces from all the races are just god awful.
The women are good looking though. Although, I'm gay. So I prefer playing male characters.
Male faces are fine. Stop being hyper critical about ♥♥♥♥. Neither gender is a problem atm given that it's in Early Access. The devs will likely include more options on 1.0 release and even if they don't mods are a thing....
...but honestly there's nothing wrong with what we got now. Just because it doesn't perfectly match your preferences/taste doesn't mean it's ugly. It's just not your thing. There is a difference.
:D
the simple truth is "beauty" ("ugliness") is a subjective thing to begin with. There's no way it's possible to please everybody unless it's an enormous effort (and budgets) invested into characters design and thousands of options are available. See Korean/eastern MMOs for the reference.
But that's not BG3 way, the devs opted for a minimalistic approach to characters. Hence it's impossible to expect them having eye-candy faces. I personally consider all vanilla faces way below average, to put it mildly. But devs were not committing to satisfy everyone's "bar" of expectations.
P.S. If that is a deal-breaker, just install some character design mods. There are decent ones available.
Just mod in your own DDS files and look like you look.
I am fine with replacing my image and character with a grey ooze blob.
Now that's what I'm talking about! Give me the ogre aesthetic I crave!
Its frustrating.
