D4 announced an atrocious patch today and everyone started saying guess I get to play BG3 now cause the new season is gonna be bad. So some people that don't know are checking it out.
What? Blizzard releasing patches that kill games? That really comes as no surprise...
Not a fan.
That said, BG3 and Diablo are completely different games, so I have my doubts if a Diablo fan would enjoy BG3.
Warning: small spoilers ahead.
Baldur's Gate 3... ohh boy, where do I start? So far, the story at the beginning is nothing special, but, and this is a big but"t" *wink*, the story gets better and better. Without too many spoilers, you've got a little parasite in your head, and it's quite hard to remove from a normal point of view, which means powerful humans or creatures should have the capabilities to remove it. But as the story progresses, you learn that is not the case because something is wrong with it. This really woke my interest in progressing with the story. Then you have so many side plots, from: "Come on, go and get it yourself, you lazy piece of ♥♥♥♥♥" to "Oh, this sounds quite interesting." The graphics are pretty nice for this kind of game. It could be better, but there is so much detail in the world and so much to interact with that you simply don't care about minor graphical issues. The original characters are a mix of interesting, boring, funny, and "I will ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slap your face, you arrogant but sexy green woman." The classes are okay at the moment, I guess. Of course, there are many classes and subclasses that are simply not in the game yet. The races are only the standard races at the moment. You could argue that Baldur's Gate 3 is just a DnD version of D1&2, and you would be correct, but that is not bad at all, except if you did not like D1&2; then it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad. You can roam freely through the map, but at times you get the feeling that there is too much going on one map. That is why I would prefer more and smaller maps instead of one big chunk of a map, like in the classic Baldur's Gate games.
Sorry, I've lost track. What were you asking again? Ahh yes... no, they are totally different kinds of games.
Diablo 4 = Hack 'n' Slash (I like it)
Baldur's Gate 3 = RPG (I love it)
Diablo 4, for me, can give me a quick fix of 'Mindless hack & slash' to take the daily pressure off, and it's reeeally good at that!
If I will start playing BG3, will I still have a family afterwards?
If you have ask, chances are that you lack the self control to not play it. So outcome seems unlikely.
