Yes. In fact, that's the only way you can play Dark urge.

Dark Urge can be any race or class.

Dark Urge is the only origin character that is fully customizable.

TECHNICALLY they are canonically an albino Dragonborn, but you can make them whatever you want.

My Dark Urge char will not be related to any version of Dragonborn. No horns, tails or scales in his family's history exists.

Never liked the idea of "canon" choices or custom characters in RPGs. Whatever happens in your game is canon for you. Picking one type of character or one set of choices and saying "this is how it *really* is even though we gave you guys choices" is basically telling everyone who picked anything else that they chose "wrong". At that point, why have choices at all? Just make a linear game and tell the story you obviously wanted to tell in the first place. </rant>

All I want is to poke someone eye with a knife as I seen it in one of the gameplay video - seriously this game is going to be epic and should make other devs work as hard as Larian.

Cannon more or less is simply how the devs will portray it in any future display, not that you are forced to do so yourself. An example in fire emblem is the player characters like Corrin, you can customize them class and all but they still have a portrayal with their swords and a specific look.

dark urge you can play how you want. resisting or embracing your murderous instinct and the race gender and appearance is in your hands. im sure their story will obviously be different compared to playing a normal customizable character though

*Sigh* given what character exactly helps you in the DU storyline, as it was revealed by the devs, the certain imp butler - you are bhaalspwan 100%.
My question is will we get some extra divine powers to use as we progress just as Gorion's Ward did in BG1-2?

It's the unique story they promised for custom characters, since in DOS2 they had nothing going on for them.
