This seems silly but how do u get a half-orc ?
I assume half elves are from one parent being a human and another being an elf
but how does it work for half -orcs ? i dont know much about D&D orcs but usually orcs are depicted in a very bad way .

Orcs, in the forgotten realm (not in other settings, or unless the DM rules otherwise) cannot be negotiated with, cannot have a better nature appealed to nor can you reason with them. They don't have the free will to do anything but destroy, maim, rape and raze.

This isn't actually true in FR at all; see the whole saga of the Kingdom of Many-Arrows in R.A. Salvatore's novels back in the days of 3E. Those orcs are still around and considered allies with the Silver Marches, lead by the former king's son. One of the 5E campaigns even mentions some of them joining other factions in the area and becoming adventurers.
yea i heard about some orc city or whatever that are mostly chill and thats partially because it has a ton of half-orc

in the lore theirs 2 kinds of Orcs, Mountain Orcs and Gray Orcs. You can tell by there nose which one they are but to not go to in depth Mountain Orcs have pig like noses and there half orc children are rape babies. For the Grey's there the ones in the PHP and have more human like noses and there kids are not usually rape babies. hope this helps

No, not in the way that WotC is going moving forward.

They are treating races as everyone can breed with everyone else, and players can choose to be half/half (but don't call it half-elf or whatever because that's inherently racist to say, lol) where you choose the stats of one racial parent and the appearance of the other.

Since the difference between "species" and "race" is the ability to breed, scientifically speaking, that means the word "race" actually fits even more now than ever before.

Personally I think WotC are being idiots thinking they can change how people have been talking about races in the game for decades just because they say it's problematic to use a word. If anything they'll get people to double down on saying "race" instead of "species" out of principle.

I wonder if a half -elf tries to make a baby with a half-orc , is it even possible cause in the lore orcs and elves cant have children with each other
cire87 Jul 17, 2023 @ 8:46pm
it also explains why elves and orcs cant breed

WotC was considering removing Half-Orcs from the game, replaced with orcs, because of the rape-riddled lore. I don't know that that plan has been permanently dropped or is currently just shelved.

They're changing the way races work altogether moving forward. They also, 3 years ago, published an article that had them defacto just change the lore of orcs and drow to be more politically correct as determined by sensitivity readers (their words in the article, not mine) because they saw them as inherently racist caricatures.

They also are trying to remove the word "race" from the game altogether because apparently that is also inherently racist. So is the idea of being half-anything, apparently.

WotC has gotten weird.

This exactly why we gatekeep our hobbies, kiddos. Turn the weirdos away at the door and let them create their own things that play by their rules.

I think it's too late for D&D. I and my gaming groups have moved on to Pathfinder now.

The OGL debacle and the news about WotC hiring Pinkertons to get Magic the Gathering Cards (that they sent by mistake) to a youtuber's house and how they threatened him and his wife kind of was the final nail in the coffin for me and my friends.

Someone also asked a few pages ago how Tieflings came about: like other planetouched (Aasimar and the elemental Genasi), they're people who have planar heritage somewhere in their ancestry. At minimum they had a parent who was a cambion (child of human + devil), but that ancestry can go much further back and just not show up for multiple generations. Tieflings can then also be born from other Tieflings.

That was me, but was actually a rhetorical question. I knew where they came from. I was really just drawing attention to the original topic that sex between a mortal and a demon isn't likely to be consentual either.

Oh, I agree completely. I just like to point out what WotC is doing to DnD as a warning to all hobbyists. Gatekeep your hobbies. Don't let the perpetually offended have any say in them.
