Orcs were created by the evil god Grommash, meant to manifest his hatred and rage as physical representations on the world.
They were created specifically to rape, pillage and raze the world, as such it is in their nature to do just that.
Half-orcs are the byproducts of this tragedy.
They're changing the way races work altogether moving forward. They also, 3 years ago, published an article that had them defacto just change the lore of orcs and drow to be more politically correct as determined by sensitivity readers (their words in the article, not mine) because they saw them as inherently racist caricatures.
They also are trying to remove the word "race" from the game altogether because apparently that is also inherently racist. So is the idea of being half-anything, apparently.
WotC has gotten weird.
But from the sounds of things I don't think I'd be a big fan of the current Orc lore then so I'd appreciate a less rapey rework!
But there are many races like that, including dragons and the githyanki. That has nothing to do with being questionable, it's just bad writing.
Especially since drow culture hasn't changed at all even with them technically no longer being evil.
