Romancing Gale + Astarion

Hello all. Do you think we can romance both Gale and Astarion in a poly type relationship??? or at the very least able to go on a good guy run with the romance being Gale and not losing Astarion??? I really want to see Astarions story but he often gets annoyed by alot of the good guy choices. I want him to stay or at least be in my poly romance but... its sounding impossible in my head. Is it worth trying?

we can't say, i mean if anyone would be open to one it would be Astarion but i doubt gale will be, plus he still kind of in love with mystra so by romancing gale you may be in a polyamorous relationship with out you realizing it LOL

Oof, I don't know that one. Astarion has been abused for 200 years. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a little possessive.

You can just have Astarion unchained at a long enough distance where he got nothing to do with the conversation when you do your good choices. You have to try and sneak some not so good choices with Astarion every now and then or he's not gonna bother with you. You're not gonna live up to his standards so to speak otherwise. Romancing both will have them fight over you sooner or later though, and you will have to choose one over the other at some point.

I don't think we're gonna be able to have a harem of any sort, not outside of mods anyway. Then again, I could be wrong.

Yeah I am starting to think my first playthrough should either be Astarion (going down a more morally grey play through) or Gale (doing the heroic/good playthrough)...

Ugh I want to do a hero playthrough first but I never thought of having to leave behind Astarion in the process.... I mean I guess I could try to play as him and romance Gale but I really wanted to do a custom character/self insert on my first playthrough...

I guess my first playthrough will be with Gale (My lover) - Wyll - Halsin...

then my next playthrough will be with Astarion (My lover) - Drow evil lady - Wyll (curious to see a darker path with him).

Thanks all! I guess romancing both Gale/Astarion or trying to romance just Gale while side lining Astarion might be too difficult...

As of now, you can only romance one character in EA. In the full game, some characters are going to be open to polyamory while others will not be okay with it. As for romancing just Gale but keeping Astarion around, you will still be able to establish a strong enough friendship/relationship with most characters that you can at least keep most of them on you side--or at least to the point they like you enough not to bounce out.

They already mentioned polyamory at the last PFH. I'm just guessing, but I think the characters likely to end up open to the poly are going to be Lyzel/Wyll and maybe Karlach/Wyll. I also don't think Astarion for the reason Fluong said. I tend to play good, but I keep Astarion appeased by demanding money from the not-so-nice people I've helped.
