Main character's voice.
Such a question... In the release version, will the character voice the lines in the dialogues or will he still remain mute? I have not found this information anywhere.:2017catheart:

It would be a fairly hard undertaking to have fully voiced lines for both male and female characters, with possibly a few variants of each. That's more common in games where you play as a fixed premade character.

The lines were not voiced during the panel from hell.
So i guess they aren't voiced for the release.
Also there was 2 female +2 male voice during the EA. There is now 4 female +4 male voice in the full release.

Voice acting the main character would be a massive undertaking

they will remain mute, it was originally planned although cut due to fan backlash that being said our character would basically just be speaking the same lines as the narrator.

I acually think being mute is better. Dialouges will flow quicker and you don't have to wait until your character voice the question or statement you choose. But i do like that they talk abit during exploration and would like more of that.

I've always been bothered with having to wait to hear my character speak the line I just read. Unvoiced protagonist is my preferences

It's more immersive without voice acting on the main character

Voice acting the MC would take away player agency and make errors in terms of choices (because there is a set tone then) so it is really awesome, that there is no MC voice acting, this is not an Action Adventure after all.

I would imagine it will be like it is now in EA. Your char does on occasion, use their voice. But for the most part, they don't.

Although i do not agree with most of you, because i like the talking main character more. But i accept your opinion and thank you for the answers.

don't listen to them, they are clearly already infected by the mindflayer parasites. They are too far gone, already enthralled. There is no hope for them.

I actually think it's more of a style choice than a 'too much work' choice.
There are a lot of similar games that do in fact do fully voiced lines for the main character (some even with multiple different male or female sounding voices to choose from), but there are a lot of modern games that don't too.

As for the topic at hand, the main character does speak from time to time, that's why you're given character voice options in the character creation menu, so they're not FULLY mute, but yeah it'll be mostly a voiceless protagonist when it comes to the conversations.

Fair point, but there are games who did it. Star Wars The Old Republic for example voiced 8 main quest lines for male and female + all side quests as well. It probably cant match the scale of BG3, but that was 15 years ago, so its doable.
