It's actually Carry disorder, or Main DPS syndrome. Because the only character that actually matters in an RPG game is the one capable of dealing the most damage on it. Which America totally represents accurately. We even derive the RPG term "nuker" from the only country to have actually used one against another.

I'd say the most important character in an RPG is the most charismatic, the face of the party, the one everyone talks to.

Well in a good RPG where choice to fight is an option. Like BG3 to be exact, where you can defeat bosses with skill checks. which is so cool.

Sure, but when negotiations fail, and they will at some point, what always sustains a group is the difference in body counts between them and their foes. Heals can be disabled, utility spells may not be prepared, speech can be denied, and rolls can poorly fumble, but a healthy dose of murder solves every problem you might encounter. If the problem isn't fixed yet, you haven't killed enough people.
