Should Larian make Curse of Strahd next?
What say you people, do you think Larian could make Curse of Strahd into a good video game, would you want that? For me it would be a yes. The reactivity Larian puts into their games I think would pair really nicely with the open yet tight design of Barovia. Thought this would be an interesting topic to discuss as I twiddle my thumbs waiting for Bg3 to release.

While I agree 100%, I don't think Larian is a great studio for that.

I would love to buy it as a stand alone expansion. charge me 50 dollars for it.

I would love a Dark Sun DLC

I'm not sure that Larian is the right studio for a Curse of Strahd game. Ravenloft is a lot more dark than even BG3 and far less humorous in its depiction.

I agree with you on that if DOS2 and previous were the only thing we look at. It remains to be seen how dark they can get with bg3. I won't talk about specifics because of spoilers, but the encounter they showed at the end of the panel from hell reminded me a lot of the Abbey in Krezk.
Things like that and the Dark urge for me make me want to reserve judgment on the tones they are able to pull off effectively.

My favorite, pretty much abandoned D&D setting is Dark Sun. I have 0 expectation it will visited tough.

Honestly I would love to see it. It would require a lot less time than BG3 since they've already got everything in place, plus they wouldn't need to come up with the story themselves, they've got the adventure book to base it off.
I'd still expect it to not be the most faithful conversion, they'd likely want to change some things up to better lean into their strengths, and to better adapt the adventure into a videogame.

That said I honestly don't see this happening. At best we'll get some DLC or expanded options for BG3. Would love to be wrong though.

This is why modding and a DM mode would be so key.

I'd also love to see Krynn revisited, maybe Gamma world if they're feeling gutsy. Just make them the official cRPG devs for WotC.

i want to see this game succeed so it can have plenty more dev support

Exactly, also its really not that combat heavy a setting, relying on foreshadowing and horror. Won't play well.

Anyhow, I doubt they would adopt an existing setting, likely just homebrew another adventure.

Curse of Strahd would be an awesome video game.

Personally I'd love to see Larian work with Paizo and make a Pathfinder game.

a Spelljammer campaign would be a better fit for Larian IMHO.

I can totally get behind this. They will only get better and better at it.
