Who knew Ego Draconis?
When I was little, one of the first rpgs I had in my hands was Divinity Ego Draconis (I never hear about it, to believe that not many people know about it, but for me it was the most technologically advanced game I had seen in that time) everything was incredible in this game to such an extent that I never completely found it in a game until Baldur Gate 3 (yes I missed the other Baldur Gate games and other divinity games) and I just realize that it was the same company that developed both! In short, the circle is complete and I can't wait to be on August 3 to continue the adventure. :D

I remember how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ busted that explosive arrow was in ego draconis. I was like... 10 when i played that? Good times, good times.

I 'acquired' it around when it first came out because I was dumb and didn't really know where I could purchase the actual game. The concept was intriguing and it was a decent bit of fun for what it was, though absolutely Eurojank. Not at all helped by the fact that it used the Gamebryo engine.

I did remember that game and who made it when Divinity: Original Sin rolled around and I was like 'oh, yeah, they made that.' and I was in.

Exactly ! for me it's more about being able to turn into a dragon in an open world in a game that is so old while some of the recent ones can't do it ^^

"Fun but janky" sums it up pretty well.

Still remember the dragon hunter squad - apparently a lot of people missed that you could turn into a dragon against them when you kill the one with the blocker.

Fun but janky as others have said. It's a pretty flawed game, and is incomplete without the DLC. It made me question people who were super hyped for DoS1 because while I had some enjoyment from Ego Draconis, it wasn't enough to make me care about the future games the developer made. It was just a bit flawed, and they had to sell their soul to get the game on shelves with OP bonuses depending on what store you bought from and the like.

There was also Divinity: Dragon Commander which they made after Ego Draconis. Though that game was also far from perfect.

I remember constantly clipping through the map every time I did the dash attack up a hill and never being able to finish it because the last battle happens in a room that locks behind you when the fight starts, and when I died, the game loaded me right outside the room but with the room still locked so I could never get back in and my other saves were from hours ago. There were a *lot* of other problems with that game. Glitches out the ass, bad animations. About the only good part was the dragon combat, and even that got boring and repetitive halfway through the game.

I own all their games since divine divinity. They are all alright, not great but ok. It wasn't really until divinity original sin that they really got something great

I tried that in my last playthrough after hearing about it in the Divinity II documentary, and it was not worth it.

Fire Breath can barely hit the Dragon Terror Patrol from point-blank range, and Fireball always misses them by a country mile since it wasn't intended for enemies of their size. Meanwhile, the Power Rangers can still stunlock you with explosive arrows which never miss.

That is to say, I can definitely understand how people didn't notice fighting the Ginyu Force as a dragon was possible, since it just barely functions as intended.

Ok the game is full of flaws but in 2009 I was 11 years old and open world rpgs weren't seen every day and at that time it seemed like a revolution to me but it's sure that 14 years later it must have got a hell of a lot of old, I don't even want to go back there I prefer to keep my childhood memories intact eheh

I played a ♥♥♥♥ ton of ego draconis when I was a kid and loved it. Tried playing it again a year or two ago and it didn't hold up well at all lol. but hey, at least my memories of that game caused me to get original sin and now im hooked on larian games.
