Wizard spells on respec
At this point I'm about done act 1. Up to this point I'd learned a pretty good selection of spells from scrolls for Gale. I respec'd him. But don't have everything I remembered learning. He does have a lower wizard level this time around. Character level 6. 3 sorc, 2 cleric, 1 wizard.

Should I be concerned that I may have lost these spells to the void when respeccing? Or are they going to come back as I continue to level?

You would keep the spells you learnt from scrolls.
Yet, you will have less spell slots
And spells you learnt as a wizard will use INT for DC/attack rolls

I'll also still have sorc at level 8 by the end game, so it's not gimped at all imo. Like, yes I'll not have access to 5th and 6th level spells but I don't really care that much. Disintegrate and globe of invulnerability would be nice. But besides that, I dunno. I don't feel like I'm missing out on much. The damage from an upcast witch bolt is comparable to chain lightning. But disintegrate is force damage, so it benefits neither from wet or destructive wrath to guarantee the max damage roll so it's actually less damage potential by like, half. Leaving the loss of utility spells like globe as the only real downside to doing things the way I described.

I'm curious, why you want to have most levels in Wizard? I would think Sorcerer would be better for more Sorcery points.

No argument. I'm not sure I ever said I was putting most levels in wizard. Just above your comment I said at character level 12 I'll have sorc level 8.

everything you learned on wizard level up would have disappeared when you went down however many levels you did

spells learned from scrolls won't though

Must have misunderstood something then, my bad.

If you learn a spell from a scroll but don't have a spell slot high enough to cast it after you respec, it will disappear from your character sheet until you do.
