Saved games patch 8
Are we going to loose all of our saved games when we load patch 8?

Shouldn't. I never have after any patch to the game.

Unless you are using mods. Which I don't use any. If you are, then your save games may have conflicts.

The saves won't be lost / deleted, but they won't necessarily work correctly or include all the new stuff.

Would recommend either starting a new game on the new patch or keeping your game on the current version until you've finished that playthrough.

*Also War of the Roses is back

That is referring to the player's save games they have made during the stress test. I would be very surprised if patch 8 has any impact on saves made with the current version of the game. Unless as I stated above, you are using mods.

I have never had a single issues with my saves working with any of the patches they have released. The Release version of the game I mean. During early access, yeah.

Sure, but we don't know if the OP is playing the stress test version or not.

I've never had any of my un-modded release saves not work, but I have run into the occasional bug and things from newer patches being missing from existing runs.

Easily avoided though.
I've played a single save across three different major patches before without issues.

Unless you're using mods that aren't updated, you'll be fine.
so you think this campaign will work? i played it after like 2 big patches released but it was almost start of the game in 2023 but not early access, full game but 2 patches in and i think it bugged out for some reason or another the peoples are floating and it uses 100% of cpu and messes up my whole system

With no mods, you should be fine. We have multiplayed from the beginning... Slowly as you can see and still saves works fine!
But if you have mods. Ends the game before the update!
If we did lose saves it would be a terrible patch.

A vanilla game should be fine I imagine.

Outside of major updates or when games are in/coming out of Early Access, I have never heard of saves being wiped from a patch. It'd just be a bad experience for the players and by extension for the company doing it.
With an update like that, you wouldn't lose your saves. But pre-patch saves might become unstable due to added content, especially if you're using mods on your playthrough. Expect it to break gloriously.

Ah, crud! I'm using mods in my game! ><" I'm using 2, because lightsabers - I just had to, you know? lol

I really grinded through Act 1 and tried not to miss any spot on the map! I'm about 180 hours in and at the beginning of Act 2. lol X) I'm very very concerned about losing my modded saves.

Is there a way to work around it? Somehow not updating the game? O.< mah brain hurts!
You could try and make a back-up of the current patch on a different location. But that would require you to have the space for it.

You use mods at your own risk. Updates don't always cause conflicts with mods. Depends which ones they are. But if you have issues, you will know why.
