Anyone else really like Orin?
Orin is one of my favorite characters so far, She makes me think of Harley Quinn in a way, kinda unstable, demented, crazed killer, is there any way to get this crazy girl into the party?

I don't like her, but there must be some people who do.

This one is a Orin Hireling replacer.
https://mod.io/g/baldursgate3/m/hireling-orin-rogue

That mod replaces one of Withers' hirelings with a Orin model replacement.

Please note she won't have Orin's voice, nor, of course, any of her abilities. She's just a Rogue with Orin's model.

All I would say is, you may be lucky she won't have the actual personality of the actual Orin.
They should make it so she is romance-able.

Along with the other two chosen.

It'd be funny.

She needs to die for what she did to Minthara.

It kinda wouid make sense for a evil route, if it were fleshed out but outside of that? Eh, rather not.

I like her in the sense that she's a pretty good villain. Admittedly she's kind of a generic archetype character but she provides a good contrast to the more reasonable antagonists. But she's well suited to BG3's body horror themes and has an uncanny appearance.

I don't see how she'd work as a party member. Narratively the game could provide means to keep her under your thumb, but she's too central to the plot late in the story.
This thread make me want to share my views about the nature of evil.

In D&D and literature evil being want to kill everyone for evil sake. This is disappointingly shortsighted. What do you do once everyone is killed hey? Plus it's hard work for little benefits!

Real evil is to enslave everyone!
All those wannabe dark lords really need to pick up their game!

Although.. when I thought that.. I was wondering what's my view on keeping everyone on minimal almost starving wages... I am on the fence here... But it's probably at least a little evil too. Might be why nobody dared to broach that topic.

Spoilers follow.

MHO: the Chosen Three as villains all are very similar to the gods they serve, and their alignments.

Bhaal is Chaotic Evil. So is Orin. CE is all about -- murder murder, blood dripping, mayhem. Chaos unleashed.
Bane is Lawful Evil. So is Gortash. As a LE Banite, Gortash doesn't necessarily want mayhem, though creating artificial mayhem is useful for his real goal. Creating a crisis which enables him to seize power (tyranny) and maintaining power and control over others. He wants Order, with of course him being the Archduke who imposes it on everyone else.

Even he will tell you - because he's not dumb - the Grand Design is game over for him and humanity and the multiverse. He wasn't trying to unleash that, and this is why he's willing to offer a temporary alliance to prevent it. The Netherbrain slipping out of his control is what he fears most.

Orin and Gortash's infighting makes absolute sense. Sure, they are both evil, but one is Chaotic and the other is Lawful, and that's the source of their rift. To be clear, Gortash doesn't mind a little murder or political assassination, but unlike Orin, he doesn't want the streets of the city dripping in blood.

Myrkul is Neutral Evil, and thus in between Bane and Bhaal's alignment, So too is Ketheric really kind of in the middle of Orin and Gortash. He is clearly Neutral Evil, and doesn't really seem to want the same Chaos as Orin either.

In reality, he seems to have had one main goal: bringing Isobel back to life. Apparently Shar wouldn't do this for him, so he switched teams from Shar to Myrkul. And Myrkul set his condition ... me and Bhaal and Bane have this plan, and you're going to be the third leg of the plot. That's basically how Ketheric got in the middle of the plot.

But in all seriousness, because he was Neutral Evil, I think this was also why (as he will tell you) there have been rifts between both him and Orin, and Gortash.

The other piece of the puzzle for Orin's motivations is Durge. Either playing Durge or just knowing about Durge's story also makes you realize Orin is driven by something more than just love of chaos and murder.

Jealousy.

Daddy/grandpappy Sarevok loved the Durge better. (So did Bhaal). Orin has daddy issues. Durge came up with this entire plot, but Orin, out of jealousy, either murdered or tadpoled him and left him for dead, so she could take over his role.

What I like about about Orin is how she looks when she dies and is dead.
never stick your ♥♥♥♥ in crazy

Personally, I enjoy taunting her about being insane, because she is. There is also some satisfaction to letting Minthara have the killing blow.

... potential spoilers.

Also, when Jaheira needles Sarevok about never having cut himself off from daddy Bhaal's apron strings, I'm like, sing it, sister. The whole family is like a dysfunctional group ,,, make the Manson family look positively normal, Let's start with the fact that Sarevok raped his own daughter Helena to produce Orin, she's an incest baby. Helena tried to murder Orin when she was only 7 years old, (on Sarevok's orders), but Orin killed her first. Oh, and it's so totally not creepy Orin has Helena's corpse hanging in her room. (Also Durge's corpse lying right near her bed IF you are not playing Durge.)

Withers is right about all of the Dead Three, Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul. They are pathetic excuses for gods. And only pathetic people would serve them and their plots. Orin being at the top of the list. A psychotic murderhobo serving a psychotic and pathetic god.
I'm the opposite; I despise her.
