Finished my first playthrough (My Thoughts)

So I just finished my first playthrough last week for my "Tav". Dorrin a half elf ranger and WHOOOO BOY! What a game to start trying Pc gaming for the first time in years!

I loved every second of it, even my goof ups. I had a lot of fun playing my character, trying to figure out who he was and where to take the story. He went from naive innocent ranger to a warrior who almost lost himself in the process of saving the world. The interactions with Gale Romance were so wholesome to watch. Mystra I loathed greatly (in character) and wish I could have a chance to slap her.

I love Karlach and Astarion as well as Lae'zel. Wyll I felt I didn't get to know enough till late in the game, same with Shadowheart. I look forward to my next Tav playthrough after I do Durge run so I can get to know these characters better.

I will admit I got a bit overwhelmed by Act 3 and the many many quests to do, uncertain of which order to do them story wise and leveling up wise.

Yes, I cried at the ending. It was a rollercoaster of emotions. I ship Karlach and Wyll now cause of it.

The more I replay, the more comfortable I get with act 3's abundance of quests. Yup, I am leaving several characters imprisoned while I deal with whatever feels more interesting at the moment, confident that there is no hidden timer anywhere.

With Durge, be prepared to save scum or accept a whole lot of tragedy.

Wyll doesn't have much personality to see, to be honest. His problem is his entire character was rewritten due to people disliking him in Early Access. This is true of Shadowheart as well, but we all think she got more polish since she is heavily tied to the main story. Wyll wasn't even tangentially as attached to the main story beyond a wurm in his skull until the rework made him the son of the Duke (he wasn't originally in Early Access).

The other issue for Wyll is their attempt in giving him a completely different personality his new one is completely just, "My father taught me,,," "My father's words..." "My father..." "My father..." bro has a massive identity problem.

I'm glad you had so much fun and warmed to the spirit of the game, where missteps are as much fun as the successes! It would also seem that you took to the roleplaying side as well. IMO this is the best way to play. :)
