You say 4 turns... I guess you are meta gaming your AC then? Cause my pure paladin has 24 AC and gets absolutely destroyed in one turn.
Edit: Also was this default difficulty or higher? Cause Im on tactician.
Tactician. Dark urge duel though not the party fight. Basically I had a good initiative and started hitting first, if you succeed any status effect that disables her somehow you win. Also if you get the slayer form she is ezmode.
In the big fight you have to hold her or have 1 character spam disables and debuffs, and 1-2 characters with many small attacks to burn through her unstoppable charges
So, the issue is that you failed many attempts?
Overall, she focuses on knocking you down (STR save) or inflicting bleed/fear on you (CON save), and physical multiattacks, so having aformentioned stats for saves (or bonuses to save), high AC and physical resistance (barbarian rage, stoneskin) can help.
Also, you can get rid of her unstoppable stacks (after dealing with cultists) by using multihit attacks (magic missile, monk's bonus action attacks).
Generally, you also don't want to tank Orin with one character since they'll get downed easily.
IIRC the big fight was way harder than my durge duel.
Also, yeah, you can surprise the cultists, but not the Orin herself, and she will transform into slayer immediately. Still helps a lot.
This battle was like a chess game; no need to hit hard at the beginning of the fight, just think what will be your next move.
But not to brag, I have beat her on Honor Mode Rule set without any mods, cheats or whatever the hell is Meta Gaming.
She can hit hard, so your tactics have to adjust according to what class you are playing. If Fighter or Paladin, just go toe to toe with her. She dies fairly quickly.
I don't use the Slayer Form at all. I always play a Dark Urge on a Redemption Path. The cloak is the only gear I get from playing one. But my char is always level 12 and geared really well. With a lot of Legendary gear.
