SlimX didn't discover Gale's system. It was discovered months prior to him posting his findings on Reddit. Completely broken down just like his video so that thirsties could manipulate Gale into specific situations that is normally impossible like Gale dying but becoming God Gale anyways in human form.
Before the gauntlet, approving Shar's ways and encouraging SH to become a dark justiciar. But it's not enough, while you're in shadowfell, you have the option to tell her to finish it, and she will. Astarion and Minthara will approve.
Or you can send her alone in the shadowfell, and she will probably take the evil choice (never tested this myself though).

I personally prefer text because you can search easily for terms you are looking for, as opposed to a video which is 9 minutes long and how do you know where in the video it covers your question? I think you can find answers in a text article quicker, in video you have to wait till the person gets to it in the video. And you have no idea where in the video they will.
Again -- just saying -- well and good both versions of this info are in this thread, but I still prefer the Wiki article.
I suspect if the Reddit text article on the "Gale point system" hadn't been taken down, I'd prefer reading that, than watching SlimX's video (which seems to be based on the now missing article).
When it comes to a point system in a game ... I agree, personal preference, but a text article works better for me.
What SlimX seems to take 30 minutes to explain in his video, I could probably digest in 3 minutes by reading a text article.
not on an honor mode run I ain't
Hmmm. I'm returning to this topic because I went back over the article and this is really interesting. How do you get all 6 Nightsong points?
Points 1 & 2 appear to be tied to her "wolf dream flashback" that she shares with you. You have to give the right dialogue responses to get the points. The WIki goes into this in detail.
Point 3 you can only get if her wound has triggered 4 times and you tell her there must be a way to heal it.
Point 4. You know how I said it wasn't that important for SH to use the Noblestalk? I was wrong. It's important in one sense. Using it adds the 4th Nightsong point.
Point 5 you only get from giving her a Night Orchid. You know, I always thought this had no real importance other than her thanking you for giving her one and probably didn't matter outside of romancing her. But nope, it earns a Nightsong point.
Point 6 you can only get if you declare you will help her in the Gauntlet, or if she does at least one of the trials. BTW, I usually always having her doing only 1, the self same trial. Little did I know that earns a Nightsong point.
Anyway, earning 4 of these points will get a scene with SH where she questions serving Shar. I have never seen this scene, so I guess I never got 4 or more of the points.
Yes, amazing what you can keep learning about the game, and what you've never seen.
That said, the end of the video also says something I find really interesting. Makes sense but also seems like a bug. There is actually a foolproof way to keep SH from killing Nightsong if you don't want her to do it.
All you have to do is make SH drop the Spear of Night on one of the floating rocks before she gets to where Nightsong is. The guy in the video correctly points out she refuses to enter the Shadowfell without the Spear, BUT, you can simply have her drop it before she gets to the bottom of the Fell. Then it doesn't matter what your approval is or what # of Nightsong points you have. If she arrives to where Aylin is and she's already dropped the Spear ... she can't kill her, even if she wants to, and so she never will. It's actually that easy. Who woulda thought?
One is the Noble Stalk. The other is if you convince her to let you take the goods from the Selunite chest which causes another flare. Both half all progression towards Nightsong points.
So, what I like about the Nightsong Points video that was posted, which is better than the Wiki on this score, is it makes clear how badly the whole system is bugged in the way you just described. The Wiki mentions that bug, I think, but the video makes it more clear.
Now as to Gale's "Goal Score" system ... again, it's weird. Finally watched all of SlimX's long rambling. No I did not know they were linked, i.e. that the more Gale's "crown score" goes up (desire to reforge and use the crown of Karsus to become a god), his "death score" goes down (desire to go out in a blaze of glory), or that when you raise one, the other lowers. Such a weird system. But more importantly, as was stated earlier in the thread, the main thing knowledge of this system can achieve is causing very weird outcomes for Gale because the system is fundamentally bugged. And if you know how to exploit those bugs, you can create the weird (and probably unintentional) outcomes.
Yes, the game has both of these systems. Yes, both of them appear to be bugged to crap, which may have also hindered figuring them out. SlimX seems to have mostly done it by going through the basic programming code itself. (Good for him, but not everybody has the technical skill to do that.)
Sigh.
The good news is, yes, Virginia, you can either make SH kill Aylin if you want her to, or not kill her if you don't want her to, without any Nightsong points.
Likewise, I know from experience, though I never knew about Gale's "Goal Score" system, I got him to blow himself up once (I've only done it once), and got him to make himself a god of ambition once (and only did that once)... so again it doesn't be a system you have to know, or exploit, but it's there.
