What is up with the Mountain pass? Am i missing something?
Halsin said it was dangerous, but there's practically no enemies and it's easier? Area feels unfinished compared to the Underdark, there's no content unless I want to assault the Githyanki. It's incredible and beautiful but there's nothing to do here.

I think it would've been perfect if you took a trolley into that middle mountain surrounded by rivers and it was some kind of corrupt temple. I think the real reason Halsin tells you to avoid it is because the area is unfinished, the devs put all their resources into making the area eye watering and forgot the content.

Halsin told you that the Shadowlands are dangerous. Not the Mountain Pass.

He suggests possibly going to Moonrise through the Underdark instead, but actually that only ends up in a different part of the Shadowlands.
It's a Gith place, that's it mostly. Mostly. There's some good gear there and some fun cinematics. Shoutout to Vlaakith not taking your ♥♥♥♥.

Most people who play this game too much suggest the following for Act 1: do the normal above ground area, then go to the Underdark and do both maps, then go to the Mountain Pass and deal with the Cr'eche.

Then head into Act 2.
I prefer to do the Crèche after the Underdark, but before Grymforge, but it doesn’t really matter too much. Just make sure you have the Goblins resolved before moving to the Mountin Pass or sadness will ensue.

There's multiple encounters on the mountain path aside from the creche. If you went straight for the trolley, you missed them. There's also an NPC you can shop from as well as take a quest from.

Why would you have to assault the Githyanki? It's not like there's only one way of doing anything in this game.

That would definitively piss off Lae'zel if you don't go there ;-)

OK. I see where you're coming from..

But the Mountain Pass and the Underdark aren't supposed to be alternatives to each other. You can do both. Or neither, since you can slip into Act 2 easily enough.

And I really don't think the Creche is easier than the Underdark.

Of course, you don't. You can skip it, though its worth about 1 level in xp, a serious bankroll in +1 junk weapons, a number of really cool items, lazel's whole quest chain (I lump the egg with this), and the vendors have the usual 2-3 really nice items each.

If you go in there and do lazel's bit, you will end up fighting with most of the place. If you don't have her, you can just say hi to everyone and cut out.

It honestly wouldn't make sense to cram it full of monsters. The gith DO tolerate minor monsters like the kobolds to make would-be adventurers stay away (one of their texts) but generally I can't see them having the surrounding area populated by pests and anything dangerous would be something to 'train' on. Its logical that they mostly cleared it out, with the exception of a partial group that were part of the raid on waukeen's rest passing through and got partly githed. The creche is plenty of content all by itself.

And probably one of the most effective weapon against Raphael if you want to kill him in Act 3, the +3 Blood of Lathander.

It feels empty for a reason due to a very territorial and militant race moving in and killing pretty much everything around except 2 fights and 1 trader.

If you want fights then yea... go against the Githyanki though be careful with Lae'zel in the party as she can get upset with you or be fine with it depending on a few things.

Imagine being upset with "no content" when you choose to not fight the Goblins lol...

IDK what you're talking about that's their nest. Obviously.

A bird as demanding as that would clearly have quite the impressive nest. Almost Eagle sized in it's grandeur. The Eagles were just jealous.

Don't forget how small he is, stories always taught me that the little guy is always innocent.
Halsin does say that the path to Moonrise will be easier initially going via the mountains but you will eventually hit the shadow curse.
