I don't know what the idol quest entails exactly after you steal it and give it to Mol, but it's probably not the biggest deal to miss out on it.
That means, if you want to get it (I got it), you need to do the kids quests first (Arabella & the harpies) and need be soft on kids committing crimes. What I don't know is, how many actions we need to do to gain Mol's trust? Are they all equals (probably no)?
I haven't done too much to advance the Grove main quest stuff yet, like investigating Kagha or saving Halsin. The kids committing crimes I haven't tried yet, but the wiki says it shouldn't be necessary. It's weird cuz the harpy kid is still inside singing my praises and giving me his letter, but he never gives a password to the hideout.
He would have given you the password after you rescued him from the Harpies. Did you speak to Doni?
Probably not. Sounds like you already screwed yourself by doing everything out of order in the first place. Mirkon tells you to speak with Doni first from jump. Assuming you never did and snuck in, or found the entrance through perception.
Again, you already have the password from Mirkon. You got it from saving him. Speaking to Doni after already bypassing him isn't likely to change anything and Mirkon doesn't give the password a second time.
