Why is the crashing in act 3 still not fixed in 2025?

Finished the game close to launch and I had to rush through act 3 because the game kept crashing at random.

Now in 2025 I am back and the crashing issue is worse than ever.

How do I fix this mess?

I tried veryfying files, tried Vulkan, tried DX11, tried fullscreen, tried borderless, tried deleting all but the latest save files - Nothing works. All drivers and updates are the latest.

PC has a fresh install of Windows 11 installed in 2025.

NO MODS!

Hardware shouldn't be an issue.

Hope that solved your issue. I have always limited my saves in games. Most don't think it causes any issues and do fine with a lot of saves. But like in BG3, I limit my saves during a run to 2 manual and one auto. Never use quick saves in any game.

Best to stick to whatever is working well for the individual.

1900+ hrs in this game and 4000+ in FO4 and have never had a corrupted save in ether game.

Never had corrupted files either but there might have been a limit. I was 1100+ saves deep.

I've 1082 BG3 saved games (10.2 Gb) on my NVME. No crashing in 440 hours of game play.

I had some bad mods that completely crippled the game so I un-installed them, un-installed the game and reinstalled it and most of the time it runs smooth. But I just killed Dror Ragzlin, during which I began to experience some graphical slowdown and when I fast travelled back to the Emerald Grove the game crashed. I have to do the fight all over again

When you uninstalled mods did you create a new game, or load a previous save?

Depending on the mods in question, just removing them and reinstalling the game doesn't mean you're fine, as there may now be data in your game save which relied or referred back to the mods.

This... is likely the larger part as to why you're crashing... Having more than 50 saves starts causing memory problems. 1100 plus saves??? The ♥♥♥♥ are you even saving and keeping that many saves for? Christ.
