No you will fail if you do i believe, but you can just avoid the portal he comes out of and then you never speak with him for the rest of EA, however maybe you will encounter him again in full release, similar to DOS2.

He's not doing it because he wants to. He has a magic nuke on a timer inside him that can't currently be removed. Regardless, if you ignore/refuse him enough, he'll find someone else to feed the bomb.

To be fair it takes a bit of time to learn the full extent of his situation, time this person is apparently way too impatient to take because they're far too busy a-murderin' everyone they don't like. Can't blame them for not having the full context.

Speaking more earnestly, I don't really understand what the big deal is about having to give him magic items. The game already drowns you in way more magic items than a real 5e game ever should, and I always have something I'm not using to toss Gale's way. I'd call his condition a minor inconvenience, but really it's not even that. Are you guys all just massive hoarders or something?

Is the actitude, and how is basically your non-protagonist character who forced go with you and if you dont press atention to them, he promise you kill millions peoples because you dont pet her with magical items.
Literal is a psycological, metaphysical and magic nuke, who always try to get whataver he want with this menace ``No, you dont can kill me or i gonna kill millions, no, you dont can negate have sex with me, because i gonna explode and kill millions with that, no, you dont can not heard me, because if i wanna i can die and explode all of yours, no because (bla bla bla if you are bad with me i gonna explode and kill millions for your fault)

And always he literal renegated all this ♥♥♥♥ is their fault and not my fault, the people, Mystra o the others.

If he have morale he try to survive eating that magic items and promise have a real reward to you, but no, he approach your empathy for make whatever he want with you, always focus in he is the most imporant member of group.

Literal if he die, the game over.
