i think solution would be crafting upgrades and reforge into a different type weapon, a npc blacksmith would do or if that's to much work a menu crafting upgrades could be the bare minimum that would keep those weapons relevant compared to those generic +1 +2.... weapons you can get anywhere. I was kinda Hoping for more quest, lore to come with items, weapons but so far not many superlative were made on that at least not in EA.
But they are working with 5e so i guess the fact that we even have what we have is fine.. Could be way worse and way less options and at least they are not randomly generated or have random stats so that's worth a lot. to me at least. Ow and Reeling is unbalanced but ok that's a different kind of problem that's got little to do with weapons but more with status debuff homebrew they made.
On the other side +1 is just 5% better in accuracy, so maybe if their bonus is really good they are not weaker?
Someone would have to do some serious math exercise on that.
And you can always find weapons with both stats and effects...
Not missing as much just feels great no matter what and you can stack modifiers to hit beyond what should be possible in 5e thanks to larians homebrew meaning you break the system.
So in bg 3 that +5% or more is really nice when stacked with everything, it all adds up to huge hit chance and you get damage as well..
Other effects can be powerfull yes, like i said Reeling is unbalanced if used properly and with mutiple weapons that do the same thing it works like you would stack armor sky high. breaking enemies chance to hit way to op as it is.
BUt again no one likes missing lol so TO hit stat still feels better, at least in my opinion.
However the effect they give "reeling" has a "-1 penalty to Attack Rolls for every turn remaining" and because it stacks you can get some insane penalty build up making it impossible for a foe to hit you directly at some point. so no i dont think +1 is to low the weapons effect is pretty intense.
