I have tried yet, but I've read that Storm Sorc/Tempest Cleric is really fun to play...

Why not both?
Nothing stopping you from picking one of those options then using a respec to make one of the companions or a hireling into the other. They're both very fun to play.

You can play one of them and have a companion spec into the other class. That way, you get to see which you like.

So it would depend on what kind of fun you're looking for.

If you want to obliterate groups of enemies in combat got Sorc.

If you want a ton of fun dialogue with a bunch of control spells and special weapon attacks, go sword bard.

Both are good but Id say Sword bard for pc. Very varied gameplay and huge fun. Tanky, good at melee, good at ranged and a full caster to boot. Excellent party face. With urchin background can also pick locks etc Everything in one package basically.

Make Shadowheart a storm sorc, or maybe a tempest cleric 2 storm sorc 10 for more fun.

Sword Bard can obliterate a group of enemies just fine.

Storm Sorc for ultimate Magic Damage, weak when being hit also can run out of spell slots quick. But if you pair it with at least 2x Warlock (Eldritch Blast + Agonizing Blast) you gain a good alternative that costs no spell slots.

And yes Storm Sorc + Tempest works but isn't as great as people will tell you, can be even worse than a pure Storm Sorcerer.

Sword Bard is great if you want to be ranged and can be good when you stay melee is also mediocre as supporter / spellcaster.

For ranged I recommend Dual Crossbow + 3x Thief (Rogue Subclass).

For melee I recommend to pair it with at least 2 levels Paladin especially when using two handed weapons or dual wield and again 3x Thief (Rogue).

There are more combinations but this are the basic ones.
