Changing subclasses after patch 8
So my group and I want to restart and play a new campaign, but we also want to switch to the new subclasses when patch 8 is fully released. Would we have to reset our campaign again in order to use the new subclasses or would we be able to switch to them partway through our new campaign?

We just don't want to start a new one and then have to restart again later to use the new subclasses.

Should be able to. I have never had any issues with any of the patches messing up what you can do normally in the game. Such as change class/subclasses at anytime when in camp and asking Wethers to do so.

The issues you may have with the patch is if you are using mods. Then it could certainly mess with things.

None of the classes appear to alter fundamental game mechanics, so I see no reason you wouldn't be able to respec into them. And judging from the beta, the patch won't break existing saves, so your only issue should be mods needing updates from the people making them.

That's obviously just specualtion, but I stand by the observations and assumptions it is based on.
Your biggest problem may be that we have no idea when the patch will be released, so it is possible you could outright finish your game before it comes out. Or they could release the patch tomorrow. Who knows?
Thanks for the useful replies!

Yeah we don't play that often so I'd be surprised if we were done with act 1 within the next few months. Hopefully it doesn't take too long, but it is what it is

As long as saves carry over, which there's been no indication of them not doing so, I would expect you could "reclass" into the new subclasses at camp.

keeping any game after the update is bold, just as long as you expect your game to be unstable after the update you'll be fine. :steamfacepalm:
