That aside, I can say with certainty a romanced (non-Origin) Gale can take his romanced Tav with him into goddess-hood -- he did that for my (female) Tav. Heck, THAT was honestly the whole reason I romanced him in that playthrough.
Generally, otherwise, I try and dissuade Gale from doing it, simply because Tara knows this is not a good thing for him, and c'mon, Tara is always right.
Who's Tara?
If you don't play Origin Gale - or use mods - you'll never run into her in a vanilla game except on some Act 3 rooftops or in the Epilogue. Though Gale will mention her.
Spoilers?
If you ask Tara in the Epilogue if it was a good thing her "pet" attained godhood, she gives some really good reasons why that will ultimately be a bad thing.
