A good gish build for Lae'zel ? (for Vaniila BG3)
I am looking for a good gish build for Lae'zel, combining either str+int or str+cha as main attributes
I am aware that there is the eldritch knight class but I was turned off by it, because I understand the spell progression is way way too slow

Any suggestions ?

Battlemaster Fighter all the way. Several tools available for them to weaken the enemy and at the same time, do a huge amount of damage.

If you go warlock dump str, pact of the blade will use charisma for attack rolls.

A warlock 5 / some subclass pally or valor/blade bard 7 is always a good approach.

Also, fighter 3 / barbarian 9 is a good combo, just not the best for Lae’zel, but still good for str based.

Monk 6 (hand subclass)/ rogue (thief) 3 / fighter (champion) 3 is also a good combo for unarmed str based and is lore friendly with giths.

I would recommend to wait patch 8 for eldritch knight. Atm the class sucks compared to others.
Eldric knight and wizard with the gloves that put your dex to 18 is slapping for me. Str int and con as high as they can go too base stat wise. And i give her as many melee range spells as possible or utility spells. She cannot be stopped.
Patch 8 new cantrip booming blade will activate war caster and extra attack at the same time.

A lvl 11 EK will do 4 APR and extra 2d8 dmg, the combo can be even more wild if prone is considered movement.

Or

Lvl 9 EK, 3 Thief, for 3 APR , 2d8 dmg and extra casting from band of mystic scoundrel ring and thief’s extra bonus action.

Current EK is too lame to play when we know there will be a better synergy soon.

Also, even now i wouldn’t use dex gloves for a EK, but a heavy armor + any of the 2 hell gloves that give 1d4 or 1d6 damage per attack, or the spellmight gloves if still bugged (don’t apply the penalty if the spell is an attack, like smiths or… booming blade. Specially if going the full EK lvl 11 route.
