There’s nothing on the skill about it, this feature is different from pact of the blade that warlocks achieve at lvl 5.
Max caster level was a must for 3.5 edition (nwn and nwn2 as example), but it’s not that relevant for 5e, specially on BG3 where builds are capped at 12.
5e made low level spells and cantrips relevant.
What about 1lvl or 2 lvl dips?
Warlocks and Paladins for example?
Both dips create much stronger characters that single classes?
And then there halfcaster into fullcaster multiclasses. Again Paladin, but ranger or eldrich knight too.
All are very good.
6th lvl spells are not that great, how many you can cast per long rest.
Best spells in game are Haste, hold person and hold monster. Those 3 and what else you need really?
Most classes in DnD 5e are front loaded.
Meaning you get most out of them in first 2-5 lvls, so multiclassing creates really good characters.
Full wizards and druids are really good but most classes do benefit from multi classing at some point.
It’s also more fun cause DnD 5e is too simplified when you lvl single class character.
It may combo well with star druid. The starry form archer allow you to use luminous arrow 1x per turn.
Despite being repeatable each turn, it’s considered a lvl 1 spell cast with bonus action, thus it’s affected by curving shot and other equipments that affect spells (afaik).
