PLEASE HELP!

I bought this game for myself and a friend, only really wanting to play it solo after playing it with them. but we cannot join a group together. it said something about mods in the error code but neither of us have any mods (nor should there be any made for an unfinished product imo) but there seems to be no info online why we cannot connect. if anyone has any ideas or advice, it would be greatly appreciated!

the actual error code is : ERROR Connection failed: Mod 'Gustav' and/or it's dependencies don't match the servers. This can be caused by corrupt files or some files have been changed.

I do not think that it is either of those because of not really opening it until this happened.

It says cross-play between PC and Stadia is a planned feature, not a current feature. So if that's what you were trying, it doesn't work yet.

we had seen that too but weren't doing cross launchers as i stated in the text that I had purchased both copies on steam.

we finally figured it out, for anyone having this issue, run a diagnostic on the game as he had 2 files that were corrupted. they should fix themselves once the diagnostic is finished.

Side note, should be obvious but if anyone is using mods or have done any game file editing, all the players will need the exact same or they'll get this error as well.
