I think he meant training wheels.
This game uses turn based not only as a design choice, but as a method of hiding the flaws in system design. There is a difference between designing a good turn based game, and a game that is turn based on a action template format.
When your game could be a real time action or turn based not losing any of the other features, your choice of turn based is stupid.
if you are making a turn based game, and it is not to excuse your own development shortcomings, it often has a series of things you can count that makes it impossible to be the same in a real time action format. Meaning, if the need for "thinking" would be the same, turn based has no reason to be. It only has a reason if the number of details and factors you have to take into account are so complex you would not possibly accomplish the thing real time action. And it is not and "idle criticism", some other games which are not hyped by Tencent money do have turn based for people who like strategy and complexity, and they are very good, but not very popular.
I mean I find pretty much all Rockstar games boring af...same with pretty much the whole genre of First Person shooters, bar very, very few exceptions....
That's just how it be...
I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love rutabagas. So good in a beef stew. I'd take it instead of the beef if I had to tbh.
So your solution is to remove chance and difficulty to make it more exciting? Sounds like you just have a skill/knowledge problem.
