Are there any new content mods
Hi,
If we google "Top 10 Baldurs Gate 3 mods" I see that most if not all of the mods are related to "Quality of Life" category, but are there any mods that introduces new content? I understand that its hard to add new regions, but, maybe some smaller mods that adds new encounters, new quests, even something like arena with randomized or endless waves would be awesome.
Preferably mods that exists in in game mods browser. Thanks!

There are more items, spells, classes, cosmetics etc. but haven't seen any new areas encounters or quests yet beyond what looks to be a pop-up flavour text based things.

And before someone says it's because there's no level editor, there is. It was found in the toolkit's code almost immediately.

As far as I'm aware this is the most recent version of the 'expanded' toolkit: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/12308

Not full new content, but there is a mod that adds multiple mini bosses to the game and adds some monsters on some encounters. Forgot what it is called exactly, but searching on mini boss will probably work. There are more of those on Nexus but haven't tried that.

Yeah, just today at mod.io there's a new mod called Goldmembers. It claims to introduce new bosses, encounters, and quests to the game. Weird name, but we'll see. (I keep wondering if you run into Austin Powers.)

Already, there is Spelljammer mod, which lets you have a few adventures in space, but I'll warn that the space locations have no minimaps yet. Still a "WIP". But yeah, you get your own space galleon.

Veilyn the Bloodletter, which introduces a custom companion and quest, is chugging along, although I personally can't get it to work.

This stuff was almost surely done with "Moonglasses," the hacked toolkit. Surprisingly, Larian doesn't seem to be stopping stuff made with it from appearing at mod.io.

Oh ... and hey ... Unlock Level Curve FINALLY released its update to fix the Druid Wildshape issue. It's solved!

The official mod kit only gave the tools to add feats, classes and tweak what is already there.

New maps, cutscenes, etc... can only be done with the unofficial mod kit that was "leaked".

It requires several work arounds to actually work but it can be done, it just takes time.

As of right now there are several mods that use it to add some more random spawns into the maps and one or two things like a spell jammer but they are very much early beta things.

Adding full on maps and story could take years as modders tend to work solo or in small groups.

Translated: Modders don't have the tools they got in Skyrim. Some big mods like Beyond Skyrim - Bruma (where you go back to Cyrodiil (TES IV)) or Wyrmstooth (new world) may never happen for BG3.

What is a combat extender mod?

There are two or three modders working on full expanded content, as in their own storyline and area. One is based on Spelljammers and the other is in the city of Thay.

I've played the Spelljammers one. It's at mod.io. A little rough. The space areas you can visit don't have minimaps and they are still working on that. But you do get your own space galleon, complete with space cannon you can fire at the ground. I think the merchants finally have identifying icons.

The Thay one I haven't seen.

I'm testing the new Goldmembers one tonight. It also seems a bit rough ... strange ... and funky.

Not a big fan of Spelljammers for the same reason I never played Cyberpunk 2077. The setting is too futuristic to appeal me. Spelljammers for me is D&D in the early Star Trek setting.

Spelljammer wouldn't have been my first choice for added content, either, but it's the beginning of more, I hope. The same author did a Planescape mod which brings some Planescape features and summonable NPCs into the game, but it doesn't add the same kind of additional areas/quests/etc. as Spelljammer.

None of those mods are even remotely close to finished yet. And when they are, you will not see them in the game's mod browser. Give it another 6-12 months and there might be something.
